Blizzard has released the next list of servers that will be unplayable for 24 hours. Starting at midnight PDT (3 a.m. EDT) tonight and ending around midnight PDT tomorrow, a large number of realms will be down for extended maintenance.
Included on that list is Zangarmarsh, the home server for WoW.com’s guild <It came from [...]

WoW Moviewatch: No Love for this PUG

This isn’t the first WoW themed cover of Tik Tok we’ve seen around the interwebs, and it might not even be the last. The first one we covered was by WarLock, whose lyrics were written by Cryssy. This version, however, is No Love for this PUG by Jennisfar. Whether you think it’s better [...]

The Queue: EVE

Welcome back to The Queue, WoW.com’s daily Q&A column where the WoW.com team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Alex Ziebart will be your host today.
I made an “oops” and missed out on this past weekend’s edition of WRUP, so what better place is there to blather on about what I did this [...]

Around Azeroth Beta Edition: Whale shark week

Meet your new underwater Fel Reaver, kids — the whale sharks of Vashj’ir. “No picture can really do justice depicting the sheer size of these guys, and seeing two in one spot is pretty terrifying,” writes Mitska of <Whispers of the Fallen> on Shadow Council (US-A). “Their hitbox is gigantic and they are boss-level monsters, [...]

Breakfast Topic: Is WoW worth it when it’s a full-time job?

My friend Airaden and I were discussing our various stages of WoW life over the weekend as we leveled our <It Came from the Blog> toons (he’s a prot pally, I’m a resto druid; we went from 41 to 45 in a few hours). We’ve both been through the thick and thin of the game [...]

Spiritual Guidance: So you wanna play a priest, part 3, levels 1-40

Spiritual Guidance is a fickle being that simply cannot be won over with chocolates and a reservation to the fanciest restaurant in town. Though Fox Van Allen might sport a silk (snap-on) tie and offer a second glass of corky but rather impressive claret, it is Dawn Moore’s singing compulsion that makes the column coo [...]

All the World’s a Stage: Effectively roleplaying grief

We’ve talked a bit about character endings. Death is a fact of life and is thus a fact of roleplay. We’re in a war story, after all, and it is somewhat inevitable that some characters will pass away. Someone may decide to end his character himself or he may have his character taken away from [...]

Nonstandard loot systems in WoW

No matter what the reason that you play World of Warcraft, there is one singular topic that all players must come across at one point or another: loot. Whether it be in dungeons, raids or PvP, loot is going to drop. When it comes to the end-game PvE side of things, you are more than [...]

Every Sunday, Chase Christian of The Light and How to Swing It invites you to discuss the finer side of the paladin class: the holy specialization. This week, we discuss the new holy paladin information from the latest BlizzChat.
I’ll be honest with you, I wasn’t expecting this. With the release of the new 31-point [...]
